After selling 5,001 ETH purchased in 2017, a long-term Ethereum wallet inked $8.66 million in profits.
Crypto Tracker LookonChain noted that in 2017, 5,001 Ethereum acquired 5,001 Ethereum for $1.38 million, and ETH only cost $277.
The wallet hosted Ethereum Trobes via multiple bull runs, including when ETH reached an all-time high of $4,878 in November 2021. At that High Point, Ethereum holders would make $23 million in profits if they sold them.
According to Crypto Data Platform Arkham, the wallet sold 3,000 Ethereum in early March, and hawk the remaining 2,001 ETH earlier this week.
Ethereum is trading at $1,882 at the time of writing. Cryptocurrencies ranked second by market capitalization have fallen nearly 2% in the last 24 hours and have fallen by more than 6% in the last 7 days.
Lookonchain also points out that Crypto whales sell Aave (Aave), a decentralized lending protocol built on Ethereum.
One whale deposited 30,001 aaves on digital asset prime broker Falconx for $4.98 million worth. Another person deposited 11,018 Aaves worth $1.86 million with Crypto Exchange OKX for a loss of $293,000.
Aave is trading at $157.39 at the time of writing. Cryptocurrency, ranked 52nd by market capitalization, has dropped by more than 6% in the last 24 hours and nearly 12% in the last 7 days.
