The Bitcoin Design Community is holding its second Designathon from May 4th to 18th, 2025. This global, fully online event brings designers, builders, creatives and Bitcoin enthusiasts from all over the world to improve Bitcoin adoption through thoughtful design solutions.
Unlike traditional hackathons that focus primarily on coding, the two-week collaborative events highlight creativity, user experience and innovative thinking. No formal design background is required.
Why design is important for Bitcoin
As Bitcoin continues to grow globally, intuitive and accessible designs have become important for mainstream adoption. Designathon creates space to address user experience challenges that may be overlooked in technically focused events.
For everyone with creative ideas
You don’t need to be a professional designer to participate! If you’re passionate about Bitcoin and have a fresh perspective on creative ideas, artistic skills, or how to make Bitcoin more intuitive and accessible, your contribution is worth it.
This event welcomes a variety of backgrounds, whether you are an illustrator, storyteller, user researcher, product thinker, or someone who likes to brainstorm solutions.

How to participate
Anyone can participate in the Design Son:
- Sign up on our website
- Submit your own project ideas
- Participate in existing team projects
- Participate in workshops and design jams throughout the event
This event follows a flexible schedule with three main touchpoints: kickoff, mid-event check-in, and lap-up call. The project will be carried out at your own pace throughout the two weeks.
