We are excited to announce the addition of a great new member to our leadership team. Karin Levy will join VentureBeat as the new editor-in-chief. Today is her first day.

Many may know Karyn from her most recent role as deputy editor at TechCrunch, but her career has been a highlight reel for veteran technology journalists. Her resume includes significant roles Protocol, NerdWallet, Business Insider, and CNETgave her a deep understanding of the industry from all angles.

Karyn’s hiring is an important step forward for VentureBeat. With a focus on serving our customers, who are technical decision makers in enterprises dealing with the complexity of AI and data, I was looking for a very specific type of leader.

In the past, the editor-in-chief was often the final support for the copy. Today, in a modern, data-centric media company like ours, that role is infinitely more dynamic. This is the central hub for your entire content operation.

During my search, I noticed that I often talk about these two types. "dopamine hit" In our business. There are hit works by writers. It means your name will be in a great story. And it’s also a hit for the organizers. It’s the satisfaction that comes from building, coordinating, and running complex machines that allow different parts of a company to move in a single, powerful direction.

We were looking for an organizer.
